“This first hairstyle, the Tigray Braids from Ethiopia which is in Africa is undeniably gracious and beautiful. It shows of your hair in an elegant way, whether curly or kinky; wavy or straight. “
Intro..
On my head. On our heads…
From one continent to another, one country to another, one ethic group to another, we crown our heads differently. As an appreciation of the diversity that our world offers I crowned my head with different styles and to start us off are different hairstyles from different cultures in Africa. As old as these hairstyles may be I believe that they can live on even in the modern day.
This first hairstyle is undeniably gracious and beautiful. It shows of your hair, whether curly or kinky, wavy or straight, in an elegant way. I believe that is why the “owners” of this hairstyle usually wore it to special occasions such as weddings and the like. I believe you would wear it to such an occasion too as would I but I would like to go against the grain with it.
I believe this hairstyle, not to belittle it in any way but I believe it can still be gracious and chilled (i.e. relaxed) at the same time. The waves and curls give it this carefree element while the contrasting big braids give a person’s hair a lot of character such that it can be worn on a chilled day out with a pretty chilled outfit but still gets you noticed whether it’s a subtle lunch with family, a cool afternoon drive with your partner or a calm picnic with friends. 🙂
With that “said” I tried out the hairstyle and I believe there are two sides to this hairstyle. 🙂
Africa is on my head.
Ethiopia is on my head.
Tigray braids are on my head.
Gracious yet relaxed..
Enjoy 🙂
Grace
Relaxed
